Artwork Description

Artist statement:

"In my artwork, "Return to Sender," I explore the distressing parallel between the moment a crocodile hatches from its egg and the unsettling reality of the legal crocodile egg harvesting in Queensland. Inspired by reflections on my family's annual visit to Australia Zoo, where I gained insights into the practice, the piece comments on the ethical implications of this industry.

The juxtaposition of the woman's emergence with the image of a crocodile hatching draws attention to the contrast between the innate beauty of nature and the imposition of human intervention for the sake of luxury goods."

This artwork was exhibited in my solo exhibition, 'Mid-sentence' at Gatakers Artspace in Maryborough, QLD in April - June 2022.

It was also exhibited at the 2022 Inverell Art Prize at the Inverell Art Gallery in Inverell, NSW.

Original artwork, carefully drawn with high quality artist pencils on the prestigious Magnani 1404 cold pressed fine art paper.

Presented in a white, A3 frame that's ready to hang on your wall.
