Shane draws on his indigenous background to create works of unique style and meaning. He uses symbols to represent both people and places which are special to him . He has been represented by the Manly Gallery in Brisbane and featured in the Courier Mail's 'Weekender' magazine.. He has a passion for colour. "Painting is like adrenaline for me. Shane's heritage combines his late mother's Birri Birri background and his father's South Sea Island culture. His great grandfather was taken to Australia from the island of Ambrum from which the family takes its name. Shane's father painted throughout his life. shane grew up in North Queensland (Innisfail) as part of a large loving family. Although Shane painted a s a young man, his first love was sport. The Ambrum family have been reknowned sportsmen and women. Family is a huge part of Shane's life.
