I have always had a passion for art and all things beautiful to the eye. I always have my eyes open. My passion for art led me to study graphic design and illustration and that in turn set up my long and fulfilling career as an Illustrator, Art Director and Photographer. In my spare time I would experiment and play with all forms of creativity including painting, structural art , photography, furniture design and making. It's very rare that a project is not in progress., whether it is a custom made piece of furniture made with some beautiful timber or photographing a stunning landscape or an interesting person. The “Flow” series was created by chance beginning as a paper marbeling project. During the process I noticed how the floating coloured inks in the acrylic water bath were constantly moving, merging and changing. My aim was to capture the beautiful fluid movements in a single frame. Transferring light through the water bath created another dimension of drama and vibrancy to the colours. The inks were photographed over many hours creating a series of morphing, abstract images resembling blooming flowers, or what could be imagined as deep sea creatures in blurred swathes of colour. Printed on Rag Cotton Paper using archival inks, the “Flow” series has been brought to life.
