Artwork Description

The Snow gum - Eucalyptus pauciflora - an iconic symbol of the bush in alpine and sub-alpine regions of Australia. Its beautiful colours and gnarled, twisted shapes have inspired this heavily textured contemporary impressionist painting. These awesome alpine eucalypts are under threat from bushfires as are so many of our magnificent native flora and fauna.

This abstracted Australian gum tree painting is alive with loosely rendered details and pallet knife texture that will make you want to touch and the vivid colours of Australia.

Signature is on the bottom right. Comes ready to hang, varnished for protection and a Certificate of Authenticity from this established BlueThumb ‘Featured Artist’.
NB: In room pics are indicative only.

Artist Bio

Words like 'joyful' and 'vibrant' are used often to describe Sharon DeSailly's contemporary paintings. Use of brilliant colours in oils and acrylics, and bold texture are recognisable elements in her style. So is her great love of the Australian countryside and way of life. As a full time artist living in Bayside, Melbourne, as well as being an avid traveller within Australia and abroad, she finds abundant inspiration and drive to pay tribute to the beauty surrounding us in our everyday life. Through her paintings, the viewer is invited to step into each scene to 'be there' in an almost tactile way.

DeSailly's contemporary impressionist approach lends itself to any subject. Her gallery transports the viewer from the long distance perspective of a vivid seaside sunset, to highly textured trees against the intense rich hues and powerful rock formations in outback Australia; to beautiful fragrant flowers in riotous cottage gardens; to a koala clinging to a gum tree, or a flock of playful cockatoos.

Paintings by Sharon DeSailly celebrate all living beauty. Through her original works of art, DeSailly brings joy into the homes and lives of collectors across Australia and in several countries around the world. She is recognised as a Featured Pro Artist on BlueThumb and exhibits at art shows around the country. Sharon is Vice President of the Brighton Art Society.
