Artwork Description

Highly textured oils on a quality stretched canvas showing two horses grazing peacefully under giant gum trees.
This square, contemporary landscape was inspired by my love of Hans Heysen’s tree paintings after a visit to his home and gallery in Hahndorf, South Australia. Painting continues around all edges.

Comes varnished for protection with a Certificate Of Authenticity from this established BlueThumb ‘Featured Artist’. It has a discreet signature on the bottom right hand corner.
NB: Hung images are for illustrative purposes, so please check dimensions for accurate sizing in your space.

Artist Bio

Words like 'joyful' and 'vibrant' are used often to describe Sharon DeSailly's contemporary paintings. Use of brilliant colours in oils and acrylics, and bold texture are recognisable elements in her style. So is her great love of the Australian countryside and way of life. As a full time artist living in Bayside, Melbourne, as well as being an avid traveller within Australia and abroad, she finds abundant inspiration and drive to pay tribute to the beauty surrounding us in our everyday life. Through her paintings, the viewer is invited to step into each scene to 'be there' in an almost tactile way.

DeSailly's contemporary impressionist approach lends itself to any subject. Her gallery transports the viewer from the long distance perspective of a vivid seaside sunset, to highly textured trees against the intense rich hues and powerful rock formations in outback Australia; to beautiful fragrant flowers in riotous cottage gardens; to a koala clinging to a gum tree, or a flock of playful cockatoos.

Paintings by Sharon DeSailly celebrate all living beauty. Through her original works of art, DeSailly brings joy into the homes and lives of collectors across Australia and in several countries around the world. She is recognised as a Featured Pro Artist on BlueThumb and exhibits at art shows around the country. Sharon is Vice President of the Brighton Art Society.
