Artwork Description

Irises with their delicate frilly skirts, bend and flow like graceful dancers in the breeze. Ruby, blue and mauve tones pop against a mixture of delicate greens. They are jewels in any garden and in any home. Twin large irises sit amongst lush strips of green leaves in a cottage garden. Both are heavily textured, their frilly skirts curling and dancing in the breeze. They are impressionistically painted but with joyfully bold brush and knife strokes.
Painted with a pallet knife using professional quality oils creating luscious texture and vivid colours, then finished with a white wooden box frame, the hues glow beautifully against the lush greenery.

A contemporary garden scene painted in abstract impressionist style, that will delight for many years and suit any decor. Comes varnished, framed in a simple white box frame along with a Certificate of Authenticity.

Artist Bio

Words like 'joyful' and 'vibrant' are used often to describe Sharon DeSailly's contemporary paintings. Use of brilliant colours in oils and acrylics, and bold texture are recognisable elements in her style. So is her great love of the Australian countryside and way of life. As a full time artist living in Bayside, Melbourne, as well as being an avid traveller within Australia and abroad, she finds abundant inspiration and drive to pay tribute to the beauty surrounding us in our everyday life. Through her paintings, the viewer is invited to step into each scene to 'be there' in an almost tactile way.

DeSailly's contemporary impressionist approach lends itself to any subject. Her gallery transports the viewer from the long distance perspective of a vivid seaside sunset, to highly textured trees against the intense rich hues and powerful rock formations in outback Australia; to beautiful fragrant flowers in riotous cottage gardens; to a koala clinging to a gum tree, or a flock of playful cockatoos.

Paintings by Sharon DeSailly celebrate all living beauty. Through her original works of art, DeSailly brings joy into the homes and lives of collectors across Australia and in several countries around the world. She is recognised as a Featured Pro Artist on BlueThumb and exhibits at art shows around the country. Sharon is Vice President of the Brighton Art Society.
