Artwork Description

Layered, textured oil painting on wooden support using pallet knife and brush. The early evening light in the distance and on the rocks is calm and gentle. You almost step into this painting across the little bright blue rockpool on the left and the textured multi coloured orange rocks in the foreground. The trees reverberate with colour, celebrating nature and the end of a lovely day. Behind the bright stretch of water, the pale golden sky glows behind blue hills.

Edges painted grey blue to tone in with the front. Painted on wooden support, easily framed if desired but not necessary. Varnished for UV protection. Discreet short signature on bottom right.
Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from this BlueThumb 'Pro' artist.

Artist Bio

Words like 'joyful' and 'vibrant' are used often to describe Sharon DeSailly's contemporary paintings. Use of brilliant colours in oils and acrylics, and bold texture are recognisable elements in her style. So is her great love of the Australian countryside and way of life. As a full time artist living in Bayside, Melbourne, as well as being an avid traveller within Australia and abroad, she finds abundant inspiration and drive to pay tribute to the beauty surrounding us in our everyday life. Through her paintings, the viewer is invited to step into each scene to 'be there' in an almost tactile way.

DeSailly's contemporary impressionist approach lends itself to any subject. Her gallery transports the viewer from the long distance perspective of a vivid seaside sunset, to highly textured trees against the intense rich hues and powerful rock formations in outback Australia; to beautiful fragrant flowers in riotous cottage gardens; to a koala clinging to a gum tree, or a flock of playful cockatoos.

Paintings by Sharon DeSailly celebrate all living beauty. Through her original works of art, DeSailly brings joy into the homes and lives of collectors across Australia and in several countries around the world. She is recognised as a Featured Pro Artist on BlueThumb and exhibits at art shows around the country. Sharon is Vice President of the Brighton Art Society.
