Artwork Description

What fun to immerse yourself in this scene and take the leap into the deep water below. This contemporary impressionist Australian landscape offers viewers the experience of bringing nature indoors...a sense of ‘being there‘ as part of the story...a joyful escape, leaping into the blue.
This painting celebrates the amazing variation of terrain, colours and natural beauty in our Australian landscape, and the joyful abandon of jumping into one of our many waterholes. It was inspired by my visits to Litchfield National Park near Darwin in Australia’s Northern Territory. You can swim in Florence Falls Waterhole, but read the signs first in case the resident crocodiles have already staked their territory for the day!

Comes varnished, ready to hang, with a Certificate of Authenticity from this BlueThumb ‘Featured Artist’.

Artist Bio

Words like 'joyful' and 'vibrant' are used often to describe Sharon DeSailly's contemporary paintings. Use of brilliant colours in oils and acrylics, and bold texture are recognisable elements in her style. So is her great love of the Australian countryside and way of life. As a full time artist living in Bayside, Melbourne, as well as being an avid traveller within Australia and abroad, she finds abundant inspiration and drive to pay tribute to the beauty surrounding us in our everyday life. Through her paintings, the viewer is invited to step into each scene to 'be there' in an almost tactile way.

DeSailly's contemporary impressionist approach lends itself to any subject. Her gallery transports the viewer from the long distance perspective of a vivid seaside sunset, to highly textured trees against the intense rich hues and powerful rock formations in outback Australia; to beautiful fragrant flowers in riotous cottage gardens; to a koala clinging to a gum tree, or a flock of playful cockatoos.

Paintings by Sharon DeSailly celebrate all living beauty. Through her original works of art, DeSailly brings joy into the homes and lives of collectors across Australia and in several countries around the world. She is recognised as a Featured Pro Artist on BlueThumb and exhibits at art shows around the country. Sharon is Vice President of the Brighton Art Society.
