Artwork Description

Eucalyptus torquata, commonly known as Coral or Coolgardie Gum, as the name suggests is a spectacular flowering gum tree endemic to Western Australia. Even in the midst of extraordinary events all over the world this year, some things never change. The seasons come and go, flowers bloom, birds nest and the magnificence of nature is all around us to enjoy, especially as we are entering Spring in Australia. This painting is an acknowledgement of the inevitability of change and the exquisite beauty of nature. My hope is that person who chooses this painting for their home or workplace will always be reminded that the world continues to be a bountiful, lovely and inspirational place.

This acrylic and oil flowering gum painting is 61cm (24โ€) square and is a highly detailed, colourful work of art that would be delightful in either a home or office. It is protected by Winsor&Newton satin oil varnish and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.

Artist Bio

Words like 'joyful' and 'vibrant' are used often to describe Sharon DeSailly's contemporary paintings. Use of brilliant colours in oils and acrylics, and bold texture are recognisable elements in her style. So is her great love of the Australian countryside and way of life. As a full time artist living in Bayside, Melbourne, as well as being an avid traveller within Australia and abroad, she finds abundant inspiration and drive to pay tribute to the beauty surrounding us in our everyday life. Through her paintings, the viewer is invited to step into each scene to 'be there' in an almost tactile way.

DeSailly's contemporary impressionist approach lends itself to any subject. Her gallery transports the viewer from the long distance perspective of a vivid seaside sunset, to highly textured trees against the intense rich hues and powerful rock formations in outback Australia; to beautiful fragrant flowers in riotous cottage gardens; to a koala clinging to a gum tree, or a flock of playful cockatoos.

Paintings by Sharon DeSailly celebrate all living beauty. Through her original works of art, DeSailly brings joy into the homes and lives of collectors across Australia and in several countries around the world. She is recognised as a Featured Pro Artist on BlueThumb and exhibits at art shows around the country. Sharon is Vice President of the Brighton Art Society.
