Artwork Description

Bearded Irises with their delicate frilly skirts, bend and flow like graceful dancers in the breeze. Ruby red, saffire blue and mauve tones pop against sunlit background foliage in a cottage garden. They are jewels in any garden that never cease to delight. Both are heavily textured with exciting, visible pallet knife strokes in this abstract impressionist painting.
Using professional quality oils to create luscious, thick texture in rich jewel-like hues, then finished professionally with a white wooden box frame, the colours glow beautifully against the lush greenery.
Comes varnished, framed in an elegant, deep, off-white box frame along with a Certificate of Authenticity.

NB: Images show indicative sizes only, so please verify measurements in your own space. Commissions welcomed.

Artist Bio

Words like 'joyful' and 'vibrant' are used often to describe Sharon DeSailly's contemporary paintings. Use of brilliant colours in oils and acrylics, and bold texture are recognisable elements in her style. So is her great love of the Australian countryside and way of life. As a full time artist living in Bayside, Melbourne, as well as being an avid traveller within Australia and abroad, she finds abundant inspiration and drive to pay tribute to the beauty surrounding us in our everyday life. Through her paintings, the viewer is invited to step into each scene to 'be there' in an almost tactile way.

DeSailly's contemporary impressionist approach lends itself to any subject. Her gallery transports the viewer from the long distance perspective of a vivid seaside sunset, to highly textured trees against intensely rich hues and powerful rock formations in outback Australia; to beautiful fragrant flowers in riotous cottage gardens; to a koala clinging to a gum tree, or a flock of playful cockatoos.

Paintings by Sharon DeSailly celebrate all living beauty. Through her original works of art, DeSailly brings joy into the homes and lives of collectors across Australia and in several countries around the world. She is recognised as a Featured Pro Artist on BlueThumb and exhibits at art shows around the country. Sharon is Vice President of the Brighton Art Society.
