Original Artwork's Description

This striking contrast of sunlight and shadows on Uluru was captured during another trip to the red centre only a few weeks ago. Standing in the glowing presence of Uluru, immersed in the fragrant eucalypts and bush flora around its base and feeling a deep connection to nature all inspired me to paint this scene. Through expressive use of colour, loose movement and texture I’ve aimed to express the feeling of this awesome place so you can bring a sense of the Australian outback into your space.

This acrylic and oil contemporary Australian landscape is painted with layers of professional pigments, on a quality 450gsm (12 oz) linen canvas with corner braces for stability, oil varnished for protection. The deep edged canvas is painted on all sides so no need to frame unless desired.
Comes ready to hang with a Certificate Of Authenticity from this established BlueThumb ‘Featured Artist’.
NB: Hung images are indicative only so please do your own measurements in your space.

Artist Bio

Words like 'joyful' and 'vibrant' are used often to describe Sharon DeSailly's contemporary paintings. Use of brilliant colours in oils and acrylics, and bold texture are recognisable elements in her style. So is her great love of the Australian countryside and way of life. As a full time artist living in Bayside, Melbourne, as well as being an avid traveller within Australia and abroad, she finds abundant inspiration and drive to pay tribute to the beauty surrounding us in our everyday life. Through her paintings, the viewer is invited to step into each scene to 'be there' in an almost tactile way.

DeSailly's contemporary impressionist approach lends itself to any subject. Her gallery transports the viewer from the long distance perspective of a vivid seaside sunset, to highly textured trees against the intense rich hues and powerful rock formations in outback Australia; to beautiful fragrant flowers in riotous cottage gardens; to a koala clinging to a gum tree, or a flock of playful cockatoos.

Paintings by Sharon DeSailly celebrate all living beauty. Through her original works of art, DeSailly brings joy into the homes and lives of collectors across Australia and in several countries around the world. She is recognised as a Featured Pro Artist on BlueThumb and exhibits at art shows around the country. Sharon is Vice President of the Brighton Art Society.
