Original Artwork's Description

This ‘Monet-esque’ contemporary impressionist water lilies painting was completed as a small study for the 170cm version recently commissioned. It features abstracted water lilies with plenty of detail, texture and colour. The eye bounces around this scene, tripping over harmonious shapes and reflections as they play on the water. A vibrant, modern interpretation of a theme that is timeless and elegant. Painting has white edges. Oil varnished for protection, with a Certificate Of Authenticity from this Bluethumb ‘Featured Artist’.

Please enquire if you would like to commission a similar painting of this size or smaller. Average time to allow is 4 weeks.

Artist Bio

Words like 'joyful' and 'vibrant' are used often to describe Sharon DeSailly's contemporary paintings. Use of brilliant colours in oils and acrylics, and bold texture are recognisable elements in her style. So is her great love of the Australian countryside and way of life. As a full time artist living in Bayside, Melbourne, as well as being an avid traveller within Australia and abroad, she finds abundant inspiration and drive to pay tribute to the beauty surrounding us in our everyday life. Through her paintings, the viewer is invited to step into each scene to 'be there' in an almost tactile way.

DeSailly's contemporary impressionist approach lends itself to any subject. Her gallery transports the viewer from the long distance perspective of a vivid seaside sunset, to highly textured trees against the intense rich hues and powerful rock formations in outback Australia; to beautiful fragrant flowers in riotous cottage gardens; to a koala clinging to a gum tree, or a flock of playful cockatoos.

Paintings by Sharon DeSailly celebrate all living beauty. Through her original works of art, DeSailly brings joy into the homes and lives of collectors across Australia and in several countries around the world. She is recognised as a Featured Pro Artist on BlueThumb and exhibits at art shows around the country. Sharon is Vice President of the Brighton Art Society.
