Artwork Description

Inspired by the darkroom I now create what I call digital photograms where I scan objects to create gorgeous detailed artworks.
I love seeing the final outcome when giclee printed on gorgeous quality cotton rag papers.
This piece has been printed onto a textured paper that gives added depth to the image.

Various feathers collected during the time when the Tawny Frogmouths are breeding. This compostion is a large scan that gives gorgeous detail. I have had it made into a Giclee print on textured thick paper. The butterfly was found as is and was already passed then found.

Artist Bio

Sharon Greenaway
C.V. 19TH June 2024
Sharon Greenaway (1960, Victoria, Australia) is a Bendigo based mixed media artist and writer.
Greenaway completed her Visual Arts degree (Photography major) at Latrobe University, Bendigo, in 2012. She began exhibiting while a student and has been involved in numerous solo and group shows ever since.
“I had worked as a freelance writer and children's author prior to going to university and studying visual arts as a mature aged student. Upon graduating in 2012, I have been working largely as a visual artist. My artistic practice revolves around creating beautiful art. The fragility of humanity and the natural world of the Victorian landscape is my inspiration.
I create macro and landscape photographs using a variety of cameras and lenses. The flora in the bush near my home is often the subject matter however I will venture into suburbia at times if the focus is needed. As well as creating photographs in the field, I work in my studio to create mixed media artworks such as textiles and 3d paper artforms.
All of my work is informed by my photography first: with the end results being interdependent on my own personal life. For example in 2020 I was diagnosed with a blood cancer which sent my life reeling; after the initial shock and treatment I was able to use my imagery in a way that helped me see a purpose to my life again.
As a passionate photographic artist, particularly of our native wildflowers, I love showing people the beauty of flora that many may never have seen.”
