Artwork Description

ARTWORK IS READY TO HANG. FRAME IS STORE BOUGHT & HAS PERSPEX VS GLASS TO ENSURE SAFETY IN SHIPPING. CUSTOM FRAMES ARE RECOMMENDED.

Something very close to my heart is the plight of children around the world, who are forced to live on the streets or in poverty, who are without food or a bed, and at the mercy of strangers. I tried to convey how that might feel to a child with this piece, and softened the background so the child is the focus. Created in soft pastels on pastel board. Sepia tones will blend in with most rooms.

Artist Bio

I am a self taught artist, having had a love for art from a young age. I am inspired greatly by my African heritage, I was born in Zimbabwe and later moved with my family to Cape Town, South Africa, and settled in Australia after travelling the world as a young adult.

I have spent the last 27 years in a corporate career, however have recently made a move back to art and am going to see where it takes me, an exciting new journey at this point in my life!

I love portraying wildlife and nature, and also the cultural aspects of countries and people. I mostly use pastels as a medium, however I like I like challenging my skills and exploring all mediums and subject matter to see what I can achieve. I like my work to speak to something, to capture a mood or convey meaning. Creating art is my happy place!

I hope you enjoy my work.
