Part of a number of small canvas works from the studio and are worked and reworked on when I'm trying ideas out. This one I liked immediately. I spotted him on Ross street and scribbled him down in paint, and he'd sat in the studio ever since. I love the colour play between orange and blue, and the wet, watercolour edges. It's painted in oil on a 5x7inch stretched canvas.
