Sometimes a shift in perspective is all that's needed to change a negative mindset into an optimistic one. We tend to focus on what's right in front of us - in the moment - instead of looking beyond what we see, to the 'bigger picture'. It can be good or bad. What's in front of us could be wonderful and short-lived, or it could be an overwhelming trial, seemingly lasting forever.
This artwork is reminiscent of that for me. What lies beyond the obvious waters and rugged coastline of this landscape, is it's light source - the beautiful sinking sun. It shifts the darkness of night into the light of day, then back again in the evening, as it slowly sinks back into the horizon. And this happens every. Single. Day. Whether it's under the blanket of night, or hidden by clouds, or obvious in a blue sky, or breathtaking in it's warm sinking rays, it exists and is persistent and enduring - beyond what we see. There's hope in that for me.
Created with palette knives on 12 oz stretched cotton, this warm and colourful coastal landscape is framed in a solid oak timber frame as shown, comes satin varnished, and with a COA.

NB: While every effort is made to capture the true colours and details of my artwork, every screen is different and art viewed online does not do my work justice. Slight differences may be evident between a screen image and the true tone and textures of my work, which is more vivid and beautiful in reality. Scale may also be slightly off due to the insitu art app used, so please ensure you measure your space.
