Artwork Description

Sometimes we all need to find a little grace in those messy moments. Do you know those times? Those days we start out with the best intentions, or promise ourselves that this time we’ll get it ā€˜right’, and not let things get to us as much as it did yesterday. But then before we know it, we’re frustrated, disappointed in ourselves, and angry that we’ve let ourselves, or others, down again. This is where grace steps in. Where we need to not be so hard on ourselves when we fail to live up to our own 'too high' expectations. Where we need to be a little bit kinder to ourselves, and to others...forgiving, understanding, compassionate, even if it's not deserved.

Recognition and acknowledgement that yes, maybe we didn’t get it right in that moment. Maybe we could've said something differently, or not at all. We could've approached a situation differently, or walked away. The thing is, there’s always plenty of other moments to come in which to try again. For now, there’s learning and acceptance, and recognition and understanding to be found in those spiraling messy moments.

This gorgeous textured seascape is reminiscent of all these messy moments in which there' s still beauty to be found. Like the waves that keep persisting, and the sun that will always rise and set, moments will always come and go and it's here in these moments we need to find grace.

Created with palette knives on artist quality gallery wrapped cotton canvas and framed in beautiful natural Ash timber, this original artwork is satin varnished and comes with a COA. I hope it inspires you to keep looking for "Grace in the Moment".

NB: While every effort is made to capture the true colours and details of my artwork, every screen is different and art viewed online does not do my work justice. Slight differences may be evident between a screen image and the true tone of my work which is more vivid and beautiful in reality. Scale may also be slightly off due to the insitu art app used, so please ensure you measure your space. Thank you!

Artworks that are relatable, that invite you to reflect, force an exhale, evoke a sense of calm…and bring you hope.

Sharon enjoyed recent success as a Finalist in Art to Art’s acclaimed ā€œUnearthedā€ Art Prize, and has been fortunate to have several of her artworks featured on Channel 9’s ā€œThe Blockā€ TV show.
