My camellias flowered abundantly this year. This is a vase of variegated crimson and pink camellias picked off the same bush in my garden. The last blooms for this season. Painted from life. Limited palette. Bluethumb framing options available on checkout.

Artwork Description
Artist Bio
Thank you for taking the time to view my artworks. I like to paint the beauty of the natural world around me, as well as simple scenes from around my house and neighbourhood in a modern impressionist style.
I studied a Diploma of Visual Arts (Fine Arts) in my 20s and am finally back at my easel after retiring from my corporate career. I use a wide variety of mediums. My favourite form of expression is oil painting. I generally paint alla prima with a limited palette, and sometimes plein air.
I live on the Coffs Coast (east coast of Australia) where the mountains meet the sea. This is an area with rich natural beauty and high biodiversity value, that is a recognised world class ecotourist destination. This beautiful environment offers a variety of subjects, from the world heritage Dorrigo rainforest in the west to the islands of the Solitary Island Marine Park in the east. Much of my art is referenced from here and elsewhere on the NSW north coast.
