Artwork Description

One of my favourite ocean mammals of all time is the Humpback Whale.

As a little girl, I adored the reality that a creature that lived in the water didn’t move their tail side to side like a fish. This thought in mind, I had to know more. Watching news reports, reading books and seeing their iconic images in magazines not only excited me but also comfort and love.

The love developed into becoming a frequent Whale Watcher from the cliff tops, viewing through binoculars. Year after year, it was always a beautiful experience, and to me it was like visiting dear friends.

As an Artist, I am constantly in a daydream. This time my daydream took me back to my beautiful Humpback Whales. I thought it only be right to put this daydream into a painting and what better to imagine an upgrade from cliff tops to being on my own private little boat, spending a peaceful blue summer day with my gentle friends.

Natural oak framed soft pastel painting on pastelmat paper. Ready for hanging. This bright blue painting will go well in most rooms including living rooms, bedrooms and hallways.

Artist Bio

My artistic journey for me started when I was very young, developing early a deep passion for nature, rich colours and natural light.

This motivation allowed me to share my personal stories of selected wildlife, landscapes/seascapes and everyday living. Finding pleasure in the simple and being mindful. Even driving to work, you can experience a quick glance of rich colours of mountain view and changing texture of clouds.

My style plays between the contemporary impressionist realism. Always wanting viewers to recognise the art without confusion and invite them to feel the spiritual energy of the painting and enjoy the moment within themselves.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me and what inspires my art.
