Artwork Description

For my inspiration and love of the coral sea, crochet, knitting and weave on timber frame
a lot of hard work
Crafted from hand-dyed, weaving, techniques to create a 3D composition that floats off the wall like sculpture.
This fiber artwork represents the coral reef in the red sea
Millions of tourists visit each year, attracted by its beauty and culture

Using fibers such as cotton hemp hessian and yarn, silk cocoons, crochet, knitting and weave inside frame, creating corals out of those materials, responds to the climate change and also a global community-based exercise in applied mathematics and evolutionary theory. In addition, crocheting, knitting and weaving can mimic the hyperbolic geometry of living reef organisms.

For the love of the ocean and coral sea
