This is a composite photograph from the "Surreal Estates of the Tropical North" series of images of which there are 12.
The eclectic mix of architecture found in Far North Queensland has been used to create these new surreal buildings which are placed in an environment of less urban clutter, so one sees the architecture in a new light.
These are conversation starters, so great to have in your living room or hang as a set of 3 together. They have been named to reflect what their previous usage was or what they are now, combined with their environment.
I wanted this image to be instantly recognisable to anyone that has been to Cairns. The elements in this image and the palms remind me of the Eagles "Hotel California" album cover, a prized possession of my teens.
To me this image says "balmy summer nights " but plenty to be entertained by.
