A composite image made up of various photographs taken by me to create a new uncluttered slightly surreal landscape, generally somewhere you wouldn't expect to find it, an ‘un-scene’ if you like. Elements are selected for similar lighting, street furniture and clutter removed in Photoshop, and toned to blend in with their new environments. Most images belong to a 3 part themed series, have a white border and include a certificate which tells the story and inspiration behind each image.
Each print has a digital signature bottom corner of the image and a white border for framing.
The Victorian and Edwardian heritage architecture proudly lining the main streets of Victoria’s Ballarat, is an impressive collection of renaissance palazzos, colonial bluestones, decadent handmade polychrome brick facades, and boom style Victorian with ornate filigree terraces.
Complete with statues, clock towers, flags, and turrets, the streets appear to be a backdrop to a film set with an Australian theme.
The Provincial
Generally meaning belonging to a particular province, especially rural, quaint or rustic. Also pertaining to the architectural styles or fashions of a particular time. The provincial is also a common name of inns from this colonial era dotted about the countryside. This complex of architecture styles are quite ornate and blend well together in this composite.
