A composite image made up of various photographs taken by me to create a new uncluttered slightly surreal landscape, generally somewhere you wouldn't expect to find it, an ‘un-scene’ if you like. Elements are selected for similar lighting, street furniture and clutter removed in Photoshop, and toned to blend in with their new environments. Most images belong to a 3 part themed series, have a white border and include a certificate which tells the story and inspiration behind each image.
Each print has a digital signature bottom corner of the image and a white border for framing.
Ballarat Series 3
The Victorian and Edwardian heritage architecture proudly lining the main streets of Victoria’s Ballarat, is an impressive collection of renaissance palazzos, colonial bluestones, decadent handmade polychrome brick facades, and boom style Victorian with ornate filigree terraces.
Complete with statues, clock towers, flags, and turrets, the streets appear to be a backdrop to a film set with an Australian theme.
By placing these structures away from street furniture and “restoring” and relieving them of modern-day signage and clutter and into a wide-open rural space gives a feeling of stateliness and mimics the wide thoroughfares and tree lined avenues of Ballarat.
All buildings were photographed from Lydiard, Sturt, Albert, Armstrong and Camp streets. A layer of texture was added to complete the look and feel of the era.
Uninvited Guests Only
Suspicions arose as he was only ever spotted at night, suddenly appearing at a party or the local inn, looking ashen and alert. He lured the young back to his residence in the country, with the promise of a different life.
