Non objective abstraction on stretched canvas. There are layers of overlapping shapes and particularity textured with glimpses of images on the underlayer, with hard and soft edges. A contemporary work with deep side float frame made of natural wood, Tasmania oak, ready to hang.

Sheila Whittam is an Adelaide Hills artist, originally from Britain. She has had a long art career having had more than 20 solo exhibition in SA and Vict. She has a BA in visual arts from ACSA. As a tutor she designed a creative art course-which contributed to community wellbeing. She has been included in three finalist major art shows in recent times including the Kennedy art prize 2022, she also won a SALA award. Is confidently experimental in her approach to art making- using mixed media - oils cold wax , monotypes and encaustics. Her most recent works have translucent multiple layering and moving into contemporary ideas and abstraction.
