Sydney City view from Woolwich

Hunters hill council organised the first plein air event a few weeks ago. It was a cloudy day. I rarely go out painting en plein air in cloudy days, but it turned out as rewarding even when it started a fine drizzle. The city turned into a misty atmospheric background with jacaranda blossoms in the middle ground soft and romantic. The fine misty drops on my watercolour paper produced nice rainy effect that I couldn’t achieve. A few passersby love it so much and declared my painting the “people’s choice” winner even before I finish 😂 There were so much activities even in a rainy day. The bright lemon yellow sails of the sailing club added dashes of colour in a grey day. A kayaker swiftly went by. A beautiful husky roamed the ground like a lone wolf as if it was his land. So much fun painting plein air even in a rainy day!
