Artwork Description

Angel Eyes is a luminous portrait that draws the viewer in through its direct gaze and rich layers of colour. Silver hummingbird earrings catch the light, while deep blues and warm golden tones create a sense of radiance and quiet presence.

Created using gouache washes, oil-based coloured pencil and oil crayon on timber panel, the work combines delicate detail with a softly glowing surface. The result is a contemporary figurative painting that brings colour, warmth and a sense of calm to a space.

Ready to hang as is, or suitable for framing under glass. As gouache remains water-soluble, the work should be protected from moisture and direct handling.

Artist Bio

BEYOND THE SEE

Sheree Glasson is a Sydney-born artist based on the harbour. She draws from places both lived and imagined, including her times living in western NSW, Canberra, and Latin America.

Her practice includes bold florals, harbour scenes and character-driven paintings such as the Breton Cat series. Known for strong composition, graphic line and confident colour, Sheree builds cohesive bodies of work that are clear, direct and designed to sit well in contemporary Australian homes.

Working across gouache, acrylic and occasional lino print, she is interested in simplifying form and using colour decisively. Whether painting a frangipani, a stretch of harbour water or a striped cat with a cup of coffee, her work is imaginative, energetic and expressive, while being grounded in observation and everyday life.
