Artist Bio

Early Passion and Artistic Journey

My passion for art was ignited during my childhood, where I found that art provided a unique outlet for expressing my emotions freely and without restraint. I loved drawing all sorts of images, and this creative process became my way of channelling feelings and experiences.

Recognised Talent and Career Path

My early drawings attracted the attention of my teachers, who recognised in me a special ability to transform real-life visions into static images. Despite this recognition, it would be many years before I fully pursued my passion for art. Initially, I spent four years working in the dental profession, followed by over a decade in the retail industry.

Motherhood and Artistic Inspiration

It was during my time as a full-time mother that I discovered my other great passion—my children. Reflecting on those early days, I realise that the innocent beauty of my daughters became one of the greatest inspirations for my artistic work. This period in my life ultimately led me to pursue my lifelong dream of becoming an artist.

Artistic Style and Achievements

My painting style is best described as Tonal Realism. Through my artwork, I aim to convey reflections of past experiences or the viewer’s current reality. I strive to capture unique and beautiful moments, bringing them to life on canvas. For me, the true reward of my work lies in evoking an emotional response from those who view my paintings.

Throughout my career, I have been honoured with several accolades, including winning the Clifton Art Prize in Adelaide in 2014. I have also been a finalist in the Cibo Galleria and Fleurieu Peninsula Water Prize, as well as the Saatchi Online Showdown. My work has been exhibited with Greenhill Galleries and featured in various solo and group exhibitions. Notably, I received the People’s Choice award at the Loreto springART show in 2014 and the St Ignatius Art Show in 2015. In 2012, I was awarded the Loreto springART 'Star Portrait' for my portrait of DJ Driller.
