Chattanooga

Chattanooga, a city in south eastern Tennessee, is set along the Tennessee River in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Its trolleylike Incline Railway scales steep Lookout Mountain before reaching Ruby Falls waterfall and Rock City, featuring sweeping views, sandstone formations and gardens. Point Park, also atop Lookout. This painting's colour palette is influenced by the landscape in the Chattanooga state forest, as are the trees that are represented here.

Sherren Comensoli is an experienced Australian contemporary artist who was raised in country Victoria. She pursued an artistic career in Retail Design & Visual Merchandising for various worldwide retail department stores as well as working as a retail design consultant for many years.
After having children, Sherren’s artistic talents have manifested into her beautiful paintings. She has now been painting full time for over 15 years. Sherren’s motivation is driven for a passion to create beautiful living spaces.
‘There is always abstraction in my paintings regardless of the subject. Before I start any painting I am considering the environment or room setting in which it is to be placed. Do I want this painting to be bold & dominate the space or does it need to be more subdued and restful?
“My paintings reflect the natural Australian landscape. Elements such as rocks, rivers, trees, and mountain scenes are all my preferred subjects. I like to use multiple layers and keep building the painting up slowly until I have something that is substantial & complex.”

Sherren is currently living in Camberwell, Victoria.
