About

Artist Statement

“Layers of meaning” is an expression which applies to much of my current work. Using a support of old books, music sheets, 35mm slides, vintage postcards, old black and white photos, copper and aluminium foil etc, my figurative painting attempts to extend the narrative by working in oil or watercolour on top of these reused materials. My audience is targeted to those who seek something interesting, not just something decorative. Follow me here or Instagram sherrymccourt_fineart for new work.
