Artwork Description

this painting seeks to show the business of the city and how 'letters' now seem to be lost in the conflagration of busy-ness! It is predominantly black and white but has highlights of aqua (or turquoise) to show that there is usually some relief of water within the cities. It is 121cm x 91cm x 3cm . It also seeks to reveal how insular the city can be, and how isolating in its busy-ness.

There are second layers of canvas over the initial canvas giving more interest and detail to the work.

Artist Bio

Originally, a painter of porcelain, followed by watercolours, I now paint predominantly in acrylic and oils.

A self-taught acrylic style contemporary artist, interested mostly in modern style, colourful portraits, seascapes, and contemporary Australian birds amongst the gums. I am situated on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland in the beautiful Maroochydore.

I HAVE to paint daily! Portraits which sing of the personality of the subject as well as random faces that yearn to be portrayed on canvas, or watercolour paper, or wooden cradle boards.....ANYTHING!

And I am driven also to paint our beautiful sea waves, bringing out the wonderful array of blues and greens and aquas that the sunshine state in Australia is so famous for.
