This piece captures a quiet moment out at sea, where a lone sailboat drifts beneath a sky full of stars. I wanted to create a sense of calm and stillness, a moment of pause and reflection. I have used soft brushwork to blend the colours in the night sky, giving it a soft and dreamy feel, while using palette knife for the water and sailboat to create a more interesting texture.
