Amphibious - modern abstract

Continuing with my love of orange, this painting is small but with big impact. The use of the complimentary colours blue and orange makes it pop and it’s full of marks and texture built up over many layers.
My inspiration always comes from the colours used and the rest is pure intuition with no set plan, simply following my process and letting the painting become what it wants to be.

The sides are painted simply in white, so whilst a frame would be a lovely option, it is ready to hang as it is.

Born in Austria, Sibylle Zinnocker has been immersed in creativity since childhood.
Her artistic journey began with a deep love for colours and a passion for hands on creativity, which lead her to study at HBLA für Künstlerlische Gestaltung in Linz. There, she spent five years honing her skills in textile design, printing, visual arts, woodwork, metalwork, and art history. She graduated in 2001 with a solid foundation in artistic expression.

After relocating to Australia and working in a career outside the arts, Sibylle eventually rediscovered her passion for painting in 2020 through an abstract painting workshop. Since then, she has dedicated herself to exploring the limitless possibilities of abstraction, using art as a means of self-expression, mindfulness, and creative freedom.

Sibylle draws inspiration from nature, particularly the emotional and psychological impact of colour. Her process is intuitive—beginning with a chosen palette, she applies paint spontaneously, allowing the composition to evolve organically. Often working quickly, she embraces an element of unpredictability, finding beauty in spontaneity and the unknown. This approach transforms each piece into a journey of discovery, where the final artwork remains a delightful surprise, even to her.

Now working towards her dream of a full-time art career, Sibylle remains committed to maintaining art as her sanctuary—where creativity flourishes without constraint.
