The composition of this piece evolved throughout the process of completion, quite similar to the concept which it stands for. The eye so rich in detail from the iris, the glands under the eyelid and capillaries create a sense of beauty. Yet it is the pupil which bears witness to all that we perceive. A perception that changes as we change through our experiences in life. Yet I always felt a true self watching behind the smoke and mirrors, a “witness” trapped in purgatory until the day we choose to free it
