With this portrait of my dear friend and fellow artist, Jamie Priesz, I aimed to convey a feeling of vulnerability. His facial expression speaking volumes, a moment captured with a sense of fragility, like the crumpled form that his image makes up on the canvas. Jamie, like many artists, no matter how strong and thick-skinned, become vulnerable when we open ourselves up to criticism through our artistic practice.
