Artwork Description

Inspired by the Colour Run events where runners have coloured paints and powders thrown at them as they jog. A celebration of colour and life.

The paint is thrown much like the colours are thrown at the runners.

Artist Bio

Coming from a family of talented artists I was never going to be an accountant. I can’t recall a time in my life when creativity didn’t play a predominant role. From crayons to paints I have always loved creating art.

Growing up in England often surrounded by dreary grey skies I used colours to brighten up my life. At the age of eight my family moved to deep dark Africa and my eyes were opened to a kaleidoscope of colours and cultural diversity and the world has never looked the same since.

Back in England I studied art and then followed my desire to return once more to Africa where I lived and worked in what is now known as The Congo. My love for warmer climes and unspoilt nature led me to Australia where I immediately felt at home. I live on acreage on the Gold Coast and my studio is surrounded by natural bush which I share with a large family of kangaroos.

I have been commissioned to create art for large corporate offices and residential developments. When I am asked to describe my painting style, I say that I throw paint. I like painting in layers and inviting an element of randomness into my art. The paintings take shape as the layers build. I am not averse to using a brush, and many of my paintings I incorporate carefully applied brush work together with my paint throwing style.

I feel really fortunate to be able to make my living through my creativity and nothing makes me happier than being able to share my passion with people who appreciate art. I have many paintings in progress and if you follow me you will be one of the first to catch the new pieces as they become available.

Remember that earth without art is just eh!
