Artwork Description

The gazing eyes of a lioness, innocent, pure, yet powerful. What is this magnificent creature pondering? She looks deep into her surroundings and is ever present as her cubs play nearby.

Artist Bio

Simon Gruar has been a professional automotive artist and custom painter for well over 20 years and currently resides in Melbourne, Victoria.
A true artist at heart, he has made the transition to producing his own individual artwork which often very diverse and experimental in style.
Growing up in a farming district, he noticed the vast textures and substrate in the surroundings, like rusty metal sheet and beautiful timber patterns which has been a long-lasting influence.
With strong automotive roots, using various metals, scratching and manipulating the surface is often a theme that's present in many of his works. Such effects reflect light, create movement and depth combined with transparent layering and light catching pearls is a passionate forte of his.
Simon is being true to his purpose and is working on sharing his vulnerability more and more through his art.
