I'm drawn to water for some reason. The Tao Te Ching says that water always gives, always flows to the lowest point and takes the gentlest route, and yet wears down mountains and washes away stone. This juxtaposition between the fluid and the concrete, the permanent and the impermanent, seduces me. Search for photographs of Princes Pier in Melbourne and you'll see glorious sunsets over rows of timber pylons. But there is a deeper story worth revealing. One of time and transience.
