Artwork Description

This is one of my favourite places to go for a dog walk with a friend or family. The clouds and trees and the feathers, nests and weeds I've styled this piece with have been picked up from the actual location over time. The colours are calm and peaceful and I see this painting in a bedroom or guest room, with a jar of weeds or grasses beside it, of course.

Artist Bio

Simone began drawing and painting from a background in Graphic Design, having worked in Australia and the U.K. as a Magazine Design and Layout Artist. In 2024 she was a finalist in the National Emerging Art Prize for her painting “Bedroom Chair and Clementine”, which offered her the opportunity for two solo shows at Michael Reid Murrurundi - in March and again in October 2025. Simone has worked at NERAM (New England Regional Art Museum) as a Gallery Assistant and taught Art to kids. She currently lives and is renovating a studio in South Gippsland with her husband, Rob, where she creates small oil paintings on board. Her paintings are perfect for pairing with some fresh picked foliage for a well styled home interior, airbnb or other guest accommodation or as part of a gallery wall collection. Simone and Rob have three, all very creative adult children. @simonehaleillustration
