This is an early painting in my War series and depicts a swampy, polluted landscape. I wanted the land and air to look almost radioactive, while also experimenting with a pattern by doing lots of round puddles. The smoke in the background reveals that the war perseveres, polluting and destroying more of the land in the distance. This piece was created with an intent to make the viewer feel uncomfortable and disconcerted by the bright colours.
