This painting is inspired by someone standing on a salt flat under the Milky Way, holding up a torch. The night sky has always been an inspiration for me. And to see the Milky Way in all its glory is mesmerising. This is a very personal work for me as it is my wife standing out on the salt flat. And together we felt so small and insignificant. I love the colours I used in this piece, which is a change to the colour palette I usually work in.
