Prayer by the Lake is a quiet, reflective mixed-media painting inspired by the book of the same title by Saint Nikolai Velimirovich. Created with oil and layered pigments, including gold, the work explores stillness, light, and inner prayer. The subtle use of gold suggests a gentle spiritual presence, echoing the calm and contemplative mood of a lake. Based in Brisbane, I am a painter working in oil, acrylic, and mixed media on canvas. After a two-year hiatus between 2023 and 2025, I returned full-time to the studio with a shift from representational work to abstraction — paint as its own subject, where surface and gesture carry what image once conveyed.
My work has been exhibited across Australia since 2011, with pieces held in private collections locally and throughout the US and Europe.
