Artwork Description

In Ex Machina, my inspiration springs from the interaction between modern society and technology, a captivating push-and-pull that often leaves us both enamored and stressed. Think of it as a love-hate tango with the ever-evolving world of artificial intelligence (AI) and innovation.

At the heart of this artwork lies a single eye, not just any eye, but a portal to our inner selves and a mirror reflecting our complex relationship with the digital domain. This eye takes form in the midst of fluid, shifting shades of blue and black, embodying the mix of fascination and uncertainty we hold toward technology.

Below this mysterious eye, a swirling vortex of white whirls and twirls, much like a digital storm. It embodies the limitless potential and creativity that technology can unleash, sparking wonder and amazement. Yet, within this whirlwind, there's a hint of the unknown, a touch of uncertainty as it hovers above the vigilant eye.

Ex Machina serves as a visual commentary on our modern lives, where we're simultaneously entranced by the promise of technology and haunted by its potential consequences.

Artist Bio

Sona is an abstract expressionist artist living in Melbourne, Australia. Sona's art is not solely about aesthetics; it's an exploration of how art influences, contributes to, and mirrors the imperfect reality of life itself.

As a former journalist, Sona intimately understands the lives of visual artists, writers, and musicians. She draws inspiration from their ability to transform personal and subjective experiences into a distinct creative language. Sona believes that art is a reflection of life's challenges, not its perfection. Her method involves employing contrasting colours to craft experimental artworks that tap into the depths of our emotions and thoughts.

With each piece, Sona extends an invitation to art lovers: a chance to revel in the vibrant imperfections that define our existence.
