Artwork Description

When you think of a traffic jam, the obstacles that automatically spring to mind are cars and trucks, But in the countryside, more often, the obstacles are livestock, and in this case sheep.

“Stampede in Blampied” is inspired by an outing to a nearby town when we encountered my favourite sort of traffic jam.

Artist Bio

I post on Instagram every day.

My daily art practice started in March 2020. I was interested in exploring the process of art making despite being firmly of the belief that I couldn't draw OR paint, I was processing grief and that was my purpose: wholly detached from the folly of expectation, instead focussed on process..

From that foundation I discovered a means of self soothing and self expression, a safe and welcoming playground, a pathway to community and a unique means of experiencing and reflecting the environment and creatures in my orbit and inside my head.

In 2023 my son and I moved from the leafy eastern suburbs of Melbourne to the forests and farms of Dja Dja Wurrung Country / Hepburn Shire in central Victoria, Australia. Here we are creating a full and satisfying life and I am endlessly inspired by the natural beauty and wonders of nature surrounding us.

I have also founded a means of sharing my love and enthusiasm for art-making with my guided program “Art for Expression and a Better Life”.
