A portrait of a woman who doesn’t cry in silence—she bleeds in brushstrokes. Her pain is not hidden; it is layered in bold pigments and fractured light. Deep reds echo heartbreak, cobalt blues drip like old wounds, and the bright streaks of fuchsia and gold trace the parts of her still fighting to feel alive. Each hue is a confession. Every contour, a scar turned sacred.
This artwork was created using acrylic paint on stretched canvas. The process began with a loose, gestural underpainting to establish movement and composition. Layers of colour were then built up gradually, using a mix of brushwork. Bold, saturated colours were applied intuitively, allowing emotion to guide the palette. Blending and layering created depth and contrast, especially around the face and hair. Highlights and details were added last to bring focus to the eyes and expression, creating a balance between abstraction and portraiture.
She doesn’t speak with words—her anguish is fluent in colour. This painting captures the chaos of healing and the beauty born from breaking.
