Sophie is exploring a spherical form in her painting practice, her version of a Zen circle. She layers the canvas with uninhibited brushstrokes and curved panels of colour until the right harmony is achieved.
Her work is inspired by the concepts of time and abstracted elements of her surrounding bushland, seaside landscape can be depicted.
In her painting she’s attempting to convey a feel, rather than depicting something realistic. She hopes that the views will interpret it their own way and discover more in the painting over time.
