Based on the famous modernist architecture in Palm Springs, this painting is from the series of work the artist produced capturing cacti and modernist style buildings.

Artist Bio

Sophie Hann studied at New York Studio School on a scholarship. She was awarded the Ruth Tuck Award, and the Dysan Bequest from the Art Gallery of New South Wales. She won the Hanger’s Choice Prize with the Gallery One Smallacombe Portrait Prize. Hann has been a finalist in numerous prizes including the Lester Prize (2025), National Emerging Art Prize (2025), the Prospect Portrait Prize (2025), the Doug Moran Portrait Prize, , the Brett Whiteley Travelling Prize, the Heysen Prize for Landscape, the Fleurieu Landscape prize, the Shirley Hannan Portrait Prize, the Alice Bale Memorial Award and the Portia Geach Memorial Award to name a few. Hann has been the recipient of several Create SA project grants and has exhibited across Australia.
