This picture is inspired from both the little seaside Cornish town Mousehole, in the UK and the children's book 'The Mousehole Cat' by Antonia Barber. I’ve chosen a mainly blue palette as this is the colour I think of most when accessing my memories of this magical place.

Artist Bio
I'm a contemporary fine artist working mainly in acrylics on canvas. Originally from the UK, now living and creating in Perth. I absolutely adore colour; bright, bold and gorgeous colour.
My early work was inspired by the British seaside towns, with their quirky fishing villages, boats and harbours. I became well known for my semi abstract wonky style of paintings, a lot of which were in blues and oranges. Although I did branch out to a more neutral palette, I quickly reverted to those stronger colours. I also love to build up a lot of layers, so each painting has a real ‘history’ to it, and I’ll add texture with a palette knife and some rougher brushes.
In my new work I’m exploring florals and still lives, a theme I’d often wanted to work into, but somehow never got the chance. Also with a rich indulgent colour palette and plenty of texture to give each painting a sense of depth and interest.
Painting and creating is where I feel the most free, alive and most like myself. The more I do the more I am drawn into the essence of it. My childhood was often solitary and my earliest memories are of making art; from little clay pots in the garden to painting ‘like mum’ in my mothers studio.
My aim is to offer you the viewer long-lasting inspiration through my colour choices, the movement in each piece and of course the real story and connection behind it.
