Artwork Description

This painting is a loose floral that I would normally paint in my sketchbook. Well this time it made to the canvas and the reason is that a bold floral like this does not sit inside a book - no, it deserves to be seen and admired. The inspiration for this came from our recent holiday to the Atherton Tablelands. It is magical there. The soil is rich and the flowers loving it. They are EVERYWHERE. There was not enough time to capture the beauty of each and every flowering plant we saw. Atherton is also known for its crystal caves attraction where you can explore the man-made tunnels lined with stunning crystals sourced from around the world. So, combining the beauty of the florals and the colourful gems, this artwork was born - Rose and Amethyst.

Acrylic and markers on canvas. Gloss varnish. Ready to hang with wire across the back.
