Artwork Description

This piece started out as an abstract landscape and developed into much more abstract as I went along. I was thinking about world events at present and what some people might see or dream about when they are held against their will. This is the subliminal stuff from having the radio on in the background while I paint. This vibrant abstract artwork showcases a lively blend of colors and textures that invite you to take a closer look.
The mix of blues, oranges, and hints of black creates a sense of movement, while the textured surface adds a fun, tactile element. Each layer of paint seems to interact, making it a visual delight.
With its modern expressionist style, this piece brings a playful yet thoughtful energy, making it a great fit for any space that needs a touch of creativity. It’s a wonderful addition to brighten your walls and inspire conversation.
*Note to self while painting, music not news channels for calmer thoughts.

Artist Bio

Steve is a Torquay, Australia based painter whose work draws deeply from the abstract world around him. From the city to the coast, Steve draws inspiration and interprets that energy and colour into his work.

His work is represented in collections across Australia and abroad.

Steve has been creative for most of his life. Working in the graphic arts industry and being part of design and photography teams has given him the experience and skills to create his art.

From his home studio he conjures thoughts that drift and settle and there’s always something waiting just under the surface; a flicker, an image, a thought.

For Steve, it’s about connection and the invitation is open for others to make that connection. When someone does that with a piece, that’s the magic.
