Artist Bio

Stefana Kachirski is an Adelaide abstract artist whose contemporary works merge bold lines and forms, with muted and monochromatic colour palettes. Primarily self-taught, Stefana creates her astounding statement pieces with joy, optimism and an unrestricted sense of risk. The nature of South Australia has become one of her work’s key influences and, at the same time, she derives inspiration from nearly everything around her.

Born and raised in California, Stefana began exploring and expressing her creative side in her early childhood. She painted frequently with her grandmother, a watercolourist who encouraged her talents, and she regularly enjoyed the practice of blending patterns and shapes together to make captivating images. Whilst at school, she participated in artistic projects that were supervised to a minimal extent, and enjoyed greater freedom of expression as a result. These early encouragements and experiences now significantly affect her present approach to painting, as she embraces a more lateral process.

In 2023, Stefana’s works began appearing in online exhibitions, art competitions and in reputable galleries and, since then, she has relished the opportunity to meet other talented artists and collaborate creatively. In 2024 and 2025 she was approached by British Vogue and House and Garden UK, and had the privilege of seeing her incredible abstracts included in three consecutive issues in both magazines. Her works now appear in a number of private collections within Australia and the United States, and she is currently a featured artist on Bluethumb and Art Lovers Australia. Stefana lives with her husband and four children, and has resided in Australia with her family since 2009.
